Long Range Forecast, Dec 12-15

December 2012
12th-15th. Snowstorm, with significant accumulations down to Maryland, Virginia, then fair, cold.

December 12: A bitter morning after the mildness of the last few days — just a hair below freezing, “feels like” only 25 degrees.

December 13: Santa Lucia. 25 degrees at 7 AM — for real. And yet the end of the day is a pleasant 40. A hint of winter?

December 14: What is this pattern of bitter mornings and mild afternoons? 28 degrees at 7 AM, and a thick frost that lingers in the shadows past sunrise — in some places, it looks almost like a dusting of snow. 48 degrees at 2:30 PM, and the enclosed porch is a downright pleasant place to sit for a while.

December 15: Chill morning — 33 degrees at 7 AM. 40 degrees at 12:30 PM, but a pleasant 40 degrees at that.
